A visionary strategist and transformational leader, he brings deep expertise in financial inclusion, digital finance, innovation, and strategy development. His career reflects an unwavering commitment to creating inclusive banking solutions that empower underserved populations and advance socio-economic development.
He previously served as Managing Director/CEO of Primera Microfinance Bank (now Koins Microfinance Bank) and Fortis Mobile Money Limited, where he spearheaded transformational initiatives that positioned both institutions as pioneers
in financial innovation. Under his leadership, Fortis became the first Microfinance Institution (MFI) in Nigeria—and the second in Africa—to achieve the globally recognized Client Protection Principle (CPP) certification, underscoring his
dedication to ethical and customer-centered banking.
As an accomplished boardroom executive, Jero serves on several boards across sectors, where his insights into digital finance, microfinance, renewable energy, and climate-smart financing continue to drive sustainable impact. A passionate
advocate for innovation, he has championed multiple breakthrough initiatives that expanded digital financial inclusion and enhanced service delivery to communities at the base of the pyramid.
He holds a degree in Economics from Ambrose Alli University and an MBA in Financial Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. His academic journey also includes executive education at world-class institutions such
as Harvard Kennedy School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Columbia Business School, the Jack Welch Management Institute, and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, where he was a Mastercard Foundation Scholar.
